By creating an account, accessing, or using the MyCollegeBridge platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MyCollegeBridge.
2. Service Overview
MyCollegeBridge is a digital marketplace that connects high school students ("Students") with college student mentors ("Mentors"). The Service facilitates scheduling, communication, and payment processing for mentorship sessions.
Platform Role: MyCollegeBridge provides the marketplace infrastructure. We are not a party to any agreements made between users and do not provide educational instruction directly.
3. Academic Integrity & Ethics
Strict Prohibition
MyCollegeBridge maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding academic dishonesty. Mentors are strictly prohibited from:
- Writing or editing student essays, assignments, or applications.
- Providing unauthorized assistance that violates school or university policies.
- Facilitating any form of plagiarism or cheating.
Consequence: Violation of this section results in immediate and permanent account suspension without refund.
4. User Conduct
Users agree to maintain a professional and respectful environment. This includes:
- Accuracy: All profile information must be truthful and verifiable.
- Communication: All professional interactions must occur through the platform's designated channels.
- Safety: Users must not engage in harassment, bullying, or any form of predatory behavior.
5. Payments, Fees, & Refunds
Payment Processing: All financial transactions are processed securely through **Stripe, Inc.** By using our payment features, you agree to the Stripe Services Agreement.
Cancellations: Students may cancel a session up to 24 hours before the scheduled time for a full credit. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a 50% late fee at the platform's discretion.
Mentor Compensation: Mentors are independent contractors and are responsible for all taxes and legal obligations related to their earnings.
6. Intellectual Property
The MyCollegeBridge brand, logo, platform design, and software are the exclusive property of MyCollegeBridge. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the platform for its intended purpose.
7. Disclaimers
Educational Disclaimer: Mentorship guidance is based on personal experiences and opinions. MyCollegeBridge does not guarantee admission to any university, college, or academic program.
"As Is" Service: We provide the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any express or implied warranties.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyCollegeBridge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service or any interactions between users.
